Cake Mania - Lights, Camera, Action!(TM)

A new challenge is in town, as a complete camera crew is stationed in Bakersfield which is filming a modern remake of a famous film and as Jill owns the best restaurant for the people with the sweet tooth she is in great hurry to get the job done. But this time she needs help as working in the eight month of pregnancy is pretty much impossible for most of jobs especially working in a bakery with the constant orders and customers. That’s why her husband Jack came to help out but he helps only in his own way… Cake Mania - Lights, Camera, Action! is based on the previous part Cake Mania – The Main Street, but only with some serious upgrades and changes in a more than positive way. The game play is simple, bake a base, add the icing and toppers and serve to your customer and earn cash on every cake, if it were so simple… Cooking and making cakes isn’t a problem, the customer you serve are! The game play is pretty much the same except the character change as Jack substitutes Jill in her job, and she remains only to decorate the cakes by sitting as it is the only thing that she can do. When Jack is making and serving the cakes, as he is not use to this job most of the appliances tend to break down which brings to half production strength and the only way to bring them back online is paying for the repair. But when Jill is filling the topping you'll play a short mini-game on the fly that involves clicking on dots to squirt icing in the correct pattern. In addition to the bakery, you'll also get to help out at Risha's fashion boutique and Gordo's pizza joint. It's with the inclusion of these two additional shops that Lights, Camera, Action! really starts to stand out from the crowd. After playing the bakery shop for 3 levels, you unlock the clothing store and after playing the clothing store for 4 levels, you unlock the Italian bistro. After all of the stores are unlocked, you can play the levels in the shops in any order. This is quite good as this bring much freshness in the game itself. When you start to feel too upset about making cakes, there Gordo’s pizza joint to relax you and if that doesn’t work Risha’s fashion boutique is a hidden object alike that serves the game marvelously. When you come to the pizza joint you be serving customers with the ingredients presented in a form of a balloon above their heads and it’s up to you to serve as fast as you can your pizzas, pastas and additional meat meals. There is a slight cache to serving customers in the pizza joint as you can cook your pasta and grill your meat as long as you like and they won’t burn. So the best thing for you to do is to keep the pot and the grill full as much as you can and have them ready for serving as customers arrive. Risha's shop combines time management with a bit of seek-and-find game play: As customers arrive, you must find the clothing they want by finding it on the store shelves. But you also must be careful as what you are selling to the customers. You will find customers asking for three things of the same color, and if you sell the top dresses or another part of the most wanted clothes you won’t have it more on stock and another customer will go empty handed and you will be on the loss, so think through what you are selling… The pizza joint and the fashion boutiques have 25 levels each and the bakery has 60 levels. You will find that buying upgrades on the additional two places is possible every level, while at the bakery that isn’t possible from the small income and lot of tricks played on you by customers. There will be situations like everybody orders were picked up and ready for backing, if not baked and suddenly a star of the movie enters the bakery and as she orders something everybody switches their orders into the same thing which can get pretty challenging if not it can make your threw away the cakes that were ready for serving. This is just one example of the customers which there are more. This time besides the old ones from the previous part and they can be pretty tense sometimes, like elves, to knights, mimics, even dragons, everyone with their own pranks and setbacks for you! The best thing is that it won’t bore you at all; in fact it will make you work better, harder and always have a strategy for a situation with those customers. As this game is pretty filled with content the only thing that must be said is that the game has a relax mode for those which can’t keep up with the time limit given in every level, but they are then in great lose as the expert score can’t be achieved. This is a game which every TM fan will enjoy definitely and surely won’t be disappointed in any way.
